Carmy angrily throws boxes out of the dumpster while cursing.
Sydney keeps Marcus company as movers take his mom's medical equipment away. She helps him go through her closet, suggesting he donate what he doesn't want to keep. He thanks for helping and apologizes for making things weird between them before. He hasn't spoken to his father yet, not even sure when the last time they spoke was. She welcomes him to the Dead Mom club, leading them to banter playfully for a while. Marcus wishes his mom got to try the food. Sydney knows his mom would have loved it.
Carmy works on dishes at The Bear. He keeps throwing them out because they aren't perfect.
Richie irons his uniform and ignores calls on his phone. He reads an article that Andrea Terry is closing her restaurant because she's retiring.
Carmy gets a text about Andrea's retirement and it sends him into an anxiety spiral as the article calls into question what elite dining means.
Richie micromanages Fak as they prep for the photoshoot. He argues with Teddy then walks out. The Fak's talk about Sammy.
Sydney joins Carmy in the kitchen as he tries to create a new dish. She likes his creation, but has seen it a hundred times before. They brainstorm the pasta for that night, then discuss Terry closing Ever.
Marcus ties to find caramel recipes when he sees Nat struggling with pregnancy symptoms. They talk about the old notes Marcus found in Carmy's notebooks, including the incredible designs he made. Marcus is feeling inspired by the white violet he saw the other day. She thinks it sounds beautiful.
Fak ranks his friends to Teddy as they manually buff the floor after failing to get the machien to work. Tina comes in with a bad haul as the market is dead. Carmy and Sydney discuss getting a produce vendor and how a new menu is killing their costs. Ebra drops the rolls so Carmy helps him clean it up. He asks Ebra if he's fucking this up, but Ebra insists this was his fault and not Carmy's.
Richie talks to Jessica on the phone about Terry closing Ever. They're open for a final week and then the funeral.
Tina is trying to figure out what to do with her haul, so Sydney shows her some new techniques. Marcus works on the violets for the bakery.
Carmen talks to Natalie about Chef Terry closing the restaurant. He feels like someone Etch-a-sketched him. He thought Ever would be there forever. She reminds him that most things aren't. She can't figure out what the review will say. Carmen wants to bring in Chris and Chuckie to help Ebra and paying them through The Beef. She isn't fighting him on this because it's the only thing making money.
Fak begins to overthink how to be a good server, while Gary and Teddy remind him to be normal. Sammy rolls in and instantly starts arguing with Teddy over stealing the SD cards. Carmen moves a bouquet of flowers for the photos.
Cicero bring his friend Nicholas Marshall, aka the Computer, into the kitchen to talk with Sydney.
Sammy continues to intimidate Teddy into saying the password or he'll haunt him forever.
Cicero and the Computer give Carmy, Sydney, and Nat a run-down of how The Bear is performing.
Sammy tells Fak to call dad back and the three begin to banter.
Cicero tells them that The Bear is doing terribly and he wants that to change.
The Fak's assemble to attack the buffing. Richie yells at the Fak's for smoking inside.
Computer runs through the expenses and, with Cicero, determines how they can cut back on costs more. Carmy is frustrated with the findings, so Cicero pulls him aside to remind him not to be an asshole.
Richie, having heard about Sammy haunting Ted, gives him permission to keep doing it.
The photographer arrives to take photos of the tables and the Fak's begin to argue after Ted claims to be a filmmaker. He finally says the password so Sammy will stop haunting him. Richie asks about the review, but the photographer won't say anything because he claims not to know. The photographer asks Richie to bring out the duck dish that the review mentioned.
Computer tells Carmy that he can't make his own ketchup just because The Beef is doing well. Richie tells Syd to prep the dish and it's news to Carmy. Sammy walks into the kitchen and meets everyone. Carmy doesn't remember the dish because of how many versions they did, and struggle to figure out who to send to get duck. They land on Sammy who thinks they want him to grab a wild duck.
Ted and Fak talk about the longest haunt in the family history.
Nat ignores a call from her mom when Computer visits her. He suggests they fire Marcus for being too expensive. She refuses to get a "cheaper Marcus", threatening to murder Computer if he fucks with Marcus, so he folds.
Cicero talks to Sydney and brings up her still needing to sign the contract. He can tell she's not overtly excited about the partnership. He asks her why Carmy is so high-strung today, but she doesn't know. He thinks Carm's high-strung nature might be his fault. He should have done more to help them when they were kids, worrying that buying them a restaurant is too little too late. She thinks he's doing fine because he's there. He asks her to sign the contract.
Carm looks through boxes in the back and sees the one with Mikey's stuff still inside. He looks through the photographs.
