Plot[]
At Carmy's behest, Richie embarks on a week-long educational stint at an upscale fine dining establishment. Initially, he harbors deep skepticism toward the restaurant and feels annoyed by the early morning routines of meticulously cleaning forks. However, as Richie witnesses the unwavering dedication of the restaurant's staff to their customers, a transformation takes place within him. His skepticism gives way to enthusiasm, and he begins to grasp the intricacies of expediting a bustling dinner service.
As the week draws to a close, Richie finds himself reluctant to leave, having developed a genuine attachment to the restaurant. Intrigued by the prospect of a more permanent role, he expresses his desire to stay on. Before his departure, Richie has the opportunity to meet the executive chef, Terry. During their encounter, Terry opens up about her own struggles with depression and professional setbacks, sharing with Richie how she overcame these challenges. This conversation leaves a lasting impact on Richie, offering him valuable insights and inspiration for his own journey.

- Though unnamed in the episode, the fine dining restaurant Richie stages at is Ever, located in Chicago's Fulton Market. Unlike its fictional counterpart, Ever has only been open since 2020 and has two Michelin stars, not three.
