Sydney meets with Chef Adam where they discuss Andrea's retirement pushing him to start his own goals by opening a new place. He wants to hire Sydney as a CDC to build the team and lead it. She gets to create the vibe and would have a partnership agreement that includes 80k, benefits including health and medical, and a bonus upon review. He doesn't want to poach her, he wants to speak with Carmy as well, but wanted to see if she would consider it.

Marcus flips through Carm's notebooks and sees photos cutout from a magazine. Carm explains they used to talk about legacy a lot - beyond their dishes but parts of an original restaurant that would be spread to others. Eventually, each part would find each other and new people would discover it. Marcus compares it to a family tree. Sydney arrives and Marcus brings her into the legacy conversation. She doesn't think far enough ahead to think about a legacy, while Carm wants to leave behind something panic-less, anxiety-free, and would have to be square with everything and everybody to achieve that. Marcus wants his legacy to be that he kept his chin up, listened and learn, did honest work, was fun to be around, and an excellent emergency contact.

Chuckie and Chi-Chi clock into The Beef, assuring a photo of Mikey they have it, and redo the stations to be more efficient. Ebra is excited to have more help. They get rid of silverware and mayonnaise. Tina helps them out as they open the window and start serving customers.

Gary stocks wines with Ted who asks if Gary is sober, as he wants to know about his Triple-A baseball career. Gary has always has been skinny but wanted to bulk up, so his nutritionist gave him something that wasn't meant to show up in a drug test, but it did. He misses the game and what he might have missed out on. He went to a dark place until he found the restaurant. Ted used to have a few parlays going on the games, so he knew about Gary's career and had to ask.

Natalie tells Richie about the two cancellations that came in. He's choosing to be positive about it. He's frustrated about how chaotic the dining room feels during service. She's accepting the fact she'll never be comfortable again with the pregnancy. The house is ready for the baby. She asks where he and Tiff were when she went into labor. He took her to a Thai place and the moment they left, her water broke. So he grabbed all her shit and took her to the hospital. He thought it would be crazy and a rush, but it was surprisingly calm. Richie recalls a fun trip he took the day before with Mikey, which makes him emotional.

Sydney takes her anger out on the boxes overflowing in the dumpster. She falls deeper in and then storms out, shouting for the Faks.

Tina asks Ebra how he's doing and he's happy to have things going better now. She gives him a clipboard to make his life easier. They laugh together and she pauses at the napkin dispensar on her way out. She finds Natalie in her office, groaning from muscle aches. She remembers being in labor with Louie forever. She began to panic over everything involved, and then her son was born. Nothing was different after but it was good. She tells Nat they're out of C-folds before walking out. Neil and Theo comes up to tell Nat the same thing, impressing the Faks. She decides to grab the c-folds herself since the Faks are needed at The Bear.

Sydney listens to a voicemail from her father asking for the mechanics number. Nat comes out and they make small talk before she tells Syd to sign the agreement.

Nat gets in her car where she's listening to a podcast about the five personality types of children of alcoholics.

Richie gives a speech to his front end people in an attempt to convey how they need to be more together. Syd saves him as he flounders, ultimately dismissing the team for start of service. He thanks her for the help.

Syd tries to Carm about the menu for the next night, getting frustrated as he bulldozes over her. She doesn't say anything about it, going on to get ready for service with everyone else.
