Michael "Mikey" Berzatto is the overarching protagonist of the comedy drama series The Bear. He was the owner of The Original Beef of Chicagoland before he died by suicide, leaving it to his brother Carmen Berzatto. He is portrayed by Jon Bernthal.

Mikey was very charismatic, he made you feel important when his attention was on you and there were many people who believed him to be their best friend.

Physical Description[]

Mikey was an attractive man with tanned skin and brown eyes. He had black hair that he kept at a medium length, slightly wavy and thick. He wore his The Original Beef of Chicagoland t-shirts even outside of work, paired with casual clothes, often jeans.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 1[]

He is shown in the flashbacks having fun with Carmy, Natalie and Richard.

In the season finale his suicide note is read by Carmy from which he finds out the recipe of pasta and a message of "I love you dude. Let it rip"

Season 2[]

In "Fishes", he seems to be having fun at Christmas and is also at odds with Lee Lane. He is sad when Carmy talks to him about the idea of working a restaurant with him because of money issues and also shows his depression and how he used to cope with it.

He was very close to his brother and loved him very much, but kept him away from the Beef because of the issues with the restaurant and his struggle with addiction. In his final note to Carmy, Michael left him the money he took from Uncle Jimmy.
